Opie-Private Adoption

Breed:  Airedale Terrier - Irish Wolfhound (mix)
Age: 2 yrs       Gender:  Male
Weight: 85 lbs
Altered: Yes

This is a private adoption that SOS posts as a courtesy. All inquiries need to be directed to the indicated party listed in the description................ This is a dog adopted from Second Chance Animal Rescue . They have given it their all. They would love to find a home w/ no kids, perhaps a single person or 2 adults. NO PETS.} From Opie's mom, "I really wish we knew Opie's past before he came to the rescue. Whatever those issues are, we've tried to work through them and now I feel as we have failed him as we look to have him re-homed yet again in his young life. We are led to believe he was abused due to some of the temperamental issues he gets. A little about the sweet guy. Yes HE IS a sweetie! He's lovable, he's LOYAL and he's protective. With his estimated age of 2.5, he still has some pup in him. This 85 lb four legged fella loves to run, and play. He's housebroken, never any accidents that I can recall. Nor does he chew. We do not know his breed but the rescue vet thought Irish Wolfhound and Airedale. We love his antenna ears. His cute twists and turns that he makes them do. He has never been in a crate at our home. He's always had free range of the home. The challenges; he's not a fan of directives. This is where most of our incidents have occurred. (he gets aggressive, I can explain more in depth if requested) He plays very mouthy. He seems to not get along with other dogs. (part of that could be our dog as well). For preventative measures, we are preferring a home without children. He has been good with kids, but we're finding we never know what fully gets his demeanor to change and don't want to risk it. He is currently in a training class to try to help along with some of issues. Please try not to judge. We have worked with him and have been so patient. He would make a great companion and watch dog for a single person or a couple without any other pets -or younger children. This has been a hard decision that we have weighed on heavily. If interested he will be available from Second Chance Animal Rescue. You will have to go through them with a full application for adoption. >>> please feel free to share as we want to find him the perfect final earthly home that we know he longs for. Please email for a questionnaire.
