The Hubble Has Landed!

ANYONE who met Hubble (aka Hubba Bubba) during his stay with us over the holidays fell in love with this little mellow boy. He was a tiny 6 pounds at 6 weeks old when Calean saved him from his final day at a local shelter. With his beautiful hazel eyes and his long hound ears that would flop in the wind, Hubba Bubba was a big bundle of love with a goofy kind of smile on his handsome face all the time.

He would take over a room and did throughout the holidays from the Noble Benefit Party to our own Christmas Volunteer Party. Calean saved him, I fostered him until my surgery, then Teri took over puppy patrol for the holidays. In fact, he quickly became best buds with Boomer, another holiday favorite of ours with another great story.

I must confess, he was perfect to have after missing my little foster pup, Happy. She had really gotten to me, but knew she was going to an amazing home. So, to have a little puppy love again was welcome despite the chaos a puppy brings! So many people wanted him, but the right ones had still not stepped up.

As I say every time, things happen for a reason. The Bowens had just lost their dearly beloved dog to cancer and were just heartbroken. When they started searching online to replace that hole in their heart, one of our other pups, Boots, reminded them of their beloved Murphy. Similar markings and face struck a chord with them. I met the whole family that day and was so impressed at their compassion. They carefully spent time with both Boots and Turner. They needed to think about it. As they were getting ready to leave, I mentioned our open house the following day in Brunswick where our other pup, Hubba Bubba would be at.

Yes, they liked that idea and drove all the way down from Lakewood again. It was magic! Hubba immediately took to them and they just fell in love. They really wanted to try to rescue Boomer also, but that is a lot to take on at one time. Did I mention little Hubba gained 10 lbs. in just one week??? Well, Hubba Bubba trotted off with the whole Bowen family that day, and we were all thrilled.

Talk about thrilling... just got this email from them:
