Please read Ivy's entire bio to understand her needs. If you aren’t looking for what would be considered a “normal” dog but would like to give an abused dog the best years of her life and get immense satisfaction of helping a sweet dog come out of her shell and become part of a family consider adopting Ivy. Ivy is a lucky 8 year old bichon mix who was rescued from a puppy mill yet still bears the emotional scars from her previous life. She is starting to come around, slowly, even letting her foster mom know she has to go out, but skittish enough to the point of not making it in time if something scares her. This poor girl spent all her life in a cage so everything in a house is new to her. She has learned about windows, TV sounds, steps and many other things that other dogs take for granted. Loud noises or new people can make her tremble as she learns to trust people and accept affection. She is especially timid around men and due to her shy and skittish nature she would do best in a quiet home. She will walk cautiously on a leash but would prefer a fenced yard along with some doggie friends to keep her on the right track and show her what a normal dogs life is like. Ivy is crate trained but has come to enjoy her own bed. She will need a special person willing to be patient as she learns what life is like outside a puppy mill. Her adoption fee is $75 fully vetted. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Our animals are cared for in foster homes and the first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application at the link on our website at: www.saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does NOT claim or guarantee any breeds given in this description. These strays come from shelters so there is usually no further knowledge. These are best guess descriptions for breed. SOS NEVER ships pets and will not adopt out to a driving radius greater than 3 hours from Medina, Ohio.
